Meg Tilly (Actor)
Bio: Known for imbuing her film characters with a spiritual quality, Meg Tilly was born in Long Beach, Calif., on February 14, 1960. At age 12, she began training as a dancer, eventually earning a scholarship to a leading New York City ballet school. A severe back injury, however, forced Tilly to find a different profession.Tilly debuted on screen in 1980's Fame, and after appearances in Tex (1982) and the 1983 potboiler Psycho II, she touched filmgoers with her performance in The Big Chill (1983). Tilly's star-making turn came playing a naive nun in Agnes of God (1985); she received a Golden Globe Award and an Oscar nomination for her supporting role.
The talented thespian -- the younger sister of actress Jennifer Tilly -- has also graced the silver screen in Off Beat (1986), Valmont (1989), The Two Jakes (1990), Leaving Normal (1992) and Body Snatchers (1993).
